About
My name is Gianluigi Pistone. I get into the Stone Balance discipline (not only an art form but much more) some years ago, as a game on the beach of Capo Noli (Savona, Liguria, Italy), a place of the heart for me. My first balances were born there and with them a love, a passion that keep to involve me more and more.
I prefer the sea shore, the cliffs to other places because I feel that it is my environment, my natural dimension.
As Paracelsus (a scientist, philosopher, alchemist of the fifteenth century) said, “the place where there is more energy in the world is the one where the water element joins the earth element, the sea shore, the sun, where also the element fire is present the energy is even greater, this is joined by the force of the air represented by the wind. In short, the sea shore is the place where the four elements of the world are concentrated ".
I started by making simple balances with two or three stones then gradually more difficult, extreme, complex sculptures. I am now going to look for quiet isolated places where I can stay hours in solitude, in a meditative concentration that I could not find among people.
On the web I met "a world" who practices this art form spread all over the world, the stone balancers.

I started to publish photos of my balances on various social networks, mainly Instagram and Facebook, receiving appreciations and invitations to meetings and festivals.

In these events I met interesting people with different approaches to the discipline: holistic, meditative, scientific, rational, playful, but all animated by a great spirit of research to encourage their own evolution, in the awareness of the ephemeral character of life, which this art well represents , and therefore of the importance of living "here and now".
